The following events are planned for the month of March:
1. The second of our monthly work parties on Tuesday 6 March. If you can help (even if only for a short time) please meet at the Village Green at 10am, and it will finish by Midday at the latest. The task this month will be pruning of the Dogwood bushes and others that we maintain there, plus preparation of the herb bed for later planting. Please wear suitable clothing, and bring loppers, secateurs and a fork/ spade if you have them.
2. Visit to Warnham Nature Reserve, near Horsham – Tuesday 13 March. Meet at the Reserve at 10am, which is situated just off the main A24 Horsham bypass on the B2237 NW of the town, and signposted by a brown sign at the roundabout where you turn off the A24 just prior to the A264 junction. The post code is RH12 2RA. We will be guided for part of the time by the warden, Jacob Everitt, and there is a small admission fee to the reserve of £2 per person. There are toilets and a snack bar where hot drinks, rolls and cakes can be bought. This is a get yourself there visit, so if you require a lift, please contact David Bettiss on 01903 246304 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t forget your binoculars and cameras.
3. The first clean of the year is the Rife Clean – Saturday 17 March. Meet at 11am at the west end of the Bluebird Cafe car park. Bags, pickers, gloves and high vis jackets will be provided. Finish at the Ferring Country Centre at the north end of the Rife, and purchase a hot drink there if you wish. If wet underfoot, please wear wellies or boots.
