August Events

  1. Big Butterfly Count – Wednesday 1 August. Meet at Bluebird cafe car park at 11am to walk up the west side of the Rife and in the lagoons to assist with our contribution to the national count. Bring binoculars if you have them. This is excellent for developing your butterfly identification skills. Will last 1 hour to 90 mins, and you can finish at Country Centre cafe if you wish. Will only take place if good weather with sun.
  2. Black Rocks Beach Walk – Monday 13 August. Meet at Bluebird cafe car park at 6pm for a walk to view the rocks and rock pools only visible at very low tides, which is at 7.33pm on this day. Will be returning by sunset at 8.30pm. Eagle-eyed accompanied children very welcome. Wear wellies or shoes suitable for going in shallow water, and possibly warm clothing. Bring a small bucket for any marine samples found.

Any late changes to either of the above events due to inclement weather etc will be posted on this website.
