Mass Goring Gap litter pick

There was a fantastic turn out of between 40 and 50 residents of Goring and Ferring today (Sunday 16 August) to clear the Goring Gap roads and their surrounds of much litter left behind by thoughtless and anti social individuals. As well as all the usual detritus of glass bottles, cans, takeaway food containers etc etc, there was also a substantial amount of fly tipped rubbish (mattress, building materials, car parts and more).

The litter was bagged up for collection by Worthing Borough Council (at least 30 full bags), and all those attending were in agreement that the whole of the Gap looked so much better afterwards, including the removal of any fire risks.

We shouldn’t have to clear up after others, but we are grateful to the decent local people who helped out on the day.
