We have no main meeting in August as usual, but below are various events taking place up to the end of September:
Pillbox open day – Sunday 30 August from 1030 am to 3pm, with a talk by Pete Coe at 11am. This is the final opening of 2026.
Monthly Community Project morning – Thursday 3 September 10am at Warren Pond (just for an hour) for a bit of bramble bashing etc. Please bring secateurs and loppers if you have them, plus strong gloves. Any help you can give to maintain this wonderful Village asset will be much appreciated, and new helpers are particularly welcome.
Beach clean – Sunday 27 Sept 11am – meet at the east end of the Bluebird cafe car park. All equipment is supplied. This is also the final clean up of the year, and part of the Great British Beach Clean.
Next main meeting – Friday 25 Sept at 2.30pm at Village Hall. The speaker is Aimee Felus, the Chief Executive of the Western Sussex Rivers Trust, and her talk is “Reimagining Rivers”. The Trust is very active locally and covers the Ferring Rife amongst others across West Sussex and Hampshire. We should also be joined for part of the meeting by our local MP, Beccy Cooper.
