Ferring beach is thankfully pretty clear of litter at present, but sadly Goring Gap isn’t. So we’re changing the location and time of this coming Sunday’s clean up. We’ll now meet at 10am on Goring Gap (Sunday 27 Sept), on the first concrete road next to Dixon’s field where we met in August to clear the roadsides of the bottles, cans and other detritus there. All equipment will be provided as usual.
Then our monthly work party will take place on Thursday 1 October, also at 10am, and this time we’ll be working at the Village Green to carry out some light pruning and weeding. If you’re able to help for an hour, we’ll be pleased to see you and please bring with you suitable secateurs and trowels etc
Finally in conjunction with Ferring Parish Council, we’ll be showing the important National Emergency Briefing film at Ferring Village Hall at 7pm on Monday 26 October. Refreshments will be provided, and tickets are free but must be obtained from the Parish Office in advance. We’ll also be distributing some tickets at this coming Friday’s group meeting at the Village Hall (25 Sept) at 2.30pm. Details of the film are as follows:
The National Emergency Briefing project has introduced The People’s Emergency Briefing, a new film aimed at enhancing public awareness of climate and environmental risks. The film had its national release on April 7, 2026, and a series of community-led screenings is scheduled throughout the year. Produced by the National Emergency Briefing team with technical support from Collective Digital, the project highlights how local groups across the UK are organising in-person events to raise awareness, foster dialogue, and encourage collective engagement with resilience challenges.
